In this little guide, you’ll get all the details on your session - from where to go, to the process of your mini session, what you’ll get, and most importantly, what to wear!

Can you believe it’s almost time for your fall mini session on September 30?!
I know I am! We’re just weeks away from a full day of photos and I can hardly wait to capture some fun moments with your family.
The Location
Pioneer Cabin at River Bends Park
Shelby Township, Michigan
Directions to the Space:
When you arrive at the Southside of River Bends Park, drive right into the Nature Center. Park in the small lot there, and head to the cabin!
(Note: if your time slot is later in the day, I might be with another family, too.)
The Process
What happens during your mini session
When you first arrive for your mini session, I will greet you with a big, toothy smile and tell you one of two things: just how much I’ve missed you (seriously, I am so thankful that you’ve come back to me for your family photos), and/or how thankful I am that you’ve chosen me as your family photographer for the first time. Most likely, it will be a combo.
I’ll also be raving about your outfits, because you saw the “What do Wear Guide” below!
Next, I’ll show you the area that we’ll be shooting in. Since we only have 15 minutes together, I like to jump into this right away, and get you in and out, in case you have other plans happening.
In those 15 minutes though, I’ll be able to capture so many images that you’ll be stunned how many are in your final gallery. You’ll have images of your whole family, just you, just your kids, of you and your partner, and even some candid shots in between.
Following your session, you’ll receive two sneak peek images within 24 hours, and your full gallery (where you choose your 5 faves) within a week.
In case you can’t choose just five, there is also an opportunity to purchase the entire gallery for $150.
But, what do I wear?!
Don’t worry, I got you!
Below, you’ll find just a selection of great options for what to wear for your fall mini session.
Just a few rules to abide by:
- No neon colors
- No super casual, just came in my pjs looks (as much as I would do the same, it just doesn’t look well in photos. Trust me!)
- No outrageous prints
- It’s not a “no”, but be careful of graphic and licensed images on tees (but, if you want to be that family who goes all our for your favorite bands? I’m here for it!)
- No one asked this, but in case you were wondering, Halloween costumes are allowed
Small prints, plaids, and solid colors are always good for family photo sessions.
Colors that just pop in the autumn season: Teal, golden yellow, emerald green, black, cream, burgundy
Colors that DON’T: hot pink, highlighter yellow, and although it’s having a moment, kelly green

HOW LONG IS THE SESSION?
The photo session will run around 15 minutes.
ARE DIGITAL IMAGES INCLUDED?
There are 5 digital images included. If you wish to purchase additional images, you can for 1/$75, 3/$125 or the full gallery for $150.
WHEN WILL I GET MY GALLERY?
After your session, you will receive two sneak peek images sent to your email. Your full gallery will be sent to you within a week.
WHAT KIND OF RETOUCHING DO YOU DO?
Nothing too crazy, I promise! I do not make you blue or pink or any other crazy color! The only retouching I do for mini sessions is smoothing skin, and making your eyes pop!
